On behalf of the Republic of Turkey, I would like to extend our warmest congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the foundation of Beijing Review. 

As China’s only national English weekly magazine published in Beijing, Beijing Review provides a profound insight about China’s social, political, economic and cultural relations and is closely followed by the diplomatic missions.  

With its deep analyses on current regional and international affairs, Beijing Review serves as an important and useful source of information for its audience. I also appreciate online editions of the Magazine which help its readers to reach the Magazine anytime and anywhere in different languages.  

Beijing Review, throughout these 60 years, has witnessed closely the progress in Turkish-Chinese bilateral relations in all fields, from the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1971 to the elevation of the ties to “strategic cooperation” in 2010. In recent years, Beijing Review has also covered extensively the important meetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Xi Jinping on various platforms and occasions like President Erdoğan’s state visit to China in 2015, G-20 Antalya/Turkey Summit, G-20 Hangzhou/China Summit, Belt and Road Forum.  

We are confident that Beijing Review, being one of the oldest and well-established press institutions of China, will continue supporting Turkish-Chinese relations and people-to-people ties between our two ancient civilizations.  This is indeed a solid relationship with a very bright future. 

Moreover, it is also a distinct pleasure for the Embassy to invite Beijng Review and its esteemed readers to follow and attend 2018 Turkey Tourism Year events in China.  

I wish continued success to Beijing Review and its esteemed staff.
